B. Tourmaline’s overall vision is to make safe spaces for queer and trans black people through events, community and the normalization of black pleasure.
Founded by Ohmi (she / they) and Jazz Robinson (she / they) and most well known for their play parties, B. Touramline’s goal is to create more spaces for queer black kink events and munches, and for the community to get to know one another. Skill trade, educational demonstrations – the goal is connection and a deepening of bonds.
While the organization is currently kink-focused, that isn’t where their vision stops.
“We’re planning to start doing classes and cultivating spaces that aren’t ONLY kink and play, but also are places of open education,” says Jazz. “Conversations that we aren’t really talking about. Talking about polyamory and kink, feelings of shame that we may be having. We need places not only for play, but places to figure out how things look for us. “
Up next is their play party for Black queer and trans people, ROUTES: VOLUME 2 on January 20th in Oakland. To help promote safety and a feeling of community, there is a one-time vetting process for folks looking to join the B. Tourmaline community.
